Welcome to Cadenza Music School!
Established in 2011, we are a family run music school who focus on educating students of all ages to reach their musical potential. Based just outside the quaint village of Blackmore in Essex, we offer one to one lessons in Piano, Singing, Guitar, Brass, Woodwind and Drums from some of the best teachers in the county.
Lessons are tailored to suit your needs. Whether you want to take exams or learn for fun, our aim is to help each student reach their individual goals. Please see the ‘Lessons Page’ for more details.
SEN – We are SEN friendly!
Cadenza is an inclusive, warm and friendly environment. We strive to be a place that makes all students feel welcome. If you have a student with SEN needs, click below to read more about the Cadenza family and SEN.
As of Summer 2022 we are an ABRSM Public Exam Centre serving Essex. We also guide many students through the ABRSM digital performance exams. See our exam page for more details.
Our teachers are also involved with other exam boards, including Trinity Guildhall, Trinity Rock & Pop and RGT. We have held Trinity Rock & Pop exams on site and hope to do this again in the future, in the mean time we help students record digital exams and book in for face to face exams at local centres.
The Cadenza Family
Cadenza Music School is owned by Katherine and Tom Potten. Both coming from musical families they shared a desire to create a place where all ages can learn in a warm, fun and educational environment. Katherine and Tom met in 2009 when they were both teaching at The Billericay Music Academy. They went on to marry in 2014 and had the ‘Cadenza Mascot’, Oscar, in 2016. Katherine and Tom both teach at Cadenza and are accompanied by a fantastic team of teachers. To read more about them and all the of team, please have a look at the ‘Teachers Page’.
“Cadenza Music School is more than just a school or a business to us, it is a dream come true. We have spent the last 10 years developing a school where students and their families are a musical community. We love every moment of what we do at Cadenza and we see that showing through our students achievements every day.”— Katherine and Tom Potten
